No Gas

What to check when you cannot use the gas

What to do when no gas comes out

1. Can you smell gas?

Open windows, close gas taps and immediately call our Gas Leak Emergency Phone Number.

» When You Smell Gas (Phone line for reporting gas leaks)

2. Is the gas tap or appliance tap closed?

Open the taps and try again.
Gas taps without handles do not need to be adjusted. If the handle is stuck and will not turn, we can repair it for a fee.

3. Can you use other gas appliances?

If other gas appliances work, the problem may be with the specific appliance.

4. Is the gas meter tap horizontal?

Turn the gas meter tap so that it is vertical.

When the gas frequently stops working

A gas meter is like an electric breaker. If you have started using more gas appliances or are using more gas for another reason, you will need to switch to a larger gas meter (free).

Frequent gas stoppage may be an indication that the amount of gas you are using is not suited to the size of your gas meter. Please contact Tokyo Gas Network.
