Residential Kitchen Appliances

Tokyo Gas adopts the motto of "helping bring smiles to the dining table" as it works to provide value that resonates with customers. We acquire various data from the deployment of stoves and grills that feature safety and automated cooking functions and are easy to clean, and leverage such data to propose comfortable kitchen spaces.

Cooking comfort, safety features and ease of cleaning of advanced stoves

Starting in October 2009, gas stoves changed to Si-sensor stoves, which are equipped with safety sensors for each burner. This innovation significantly improved stove safety. The sensors make it possible to incorporate other functions to enhance cooking, such as setting the temperature of a pan. This in turn has given rise to new functions such as automatic noodle boiling and sticky rice cooking. In addition, Tokyo Gas is studying ways of making grills and top-plates that are easier to clean, thereby reducing maintenance for customers and further enhancing the ease of use of our appliances and services.

A new style of grilling

A conventional grill uses direct heat to cook food. However, it cannot heat food thoroughly without burning it on the outside because it is not possible to maintain the heat distribution when the heat is turned down to a certain level. Therefore, we developed a new style of grilling that facilitates "convenient and delicious cooking" using a variety of specialized grilling containers such as Dutch ovens, ‘Casserole’, ‘Plate pan’, ‘Cocotte’ and ‘Cocotte Dutch oven’.

Making gas stoves easier to look after

To respond to customers who want a gas stove that is easier to care for, Tokyo Gas engages in various efforts such as developing new materials and shapes for top-plates and grilles. We released the new gas stove “Rakkuri-na” in March 2011, which employs aluminum with excellent heat dissipation properties as the material for the top-plate. The latter is coated with “Teflon ® Platinum” that has excellent non-stick characteristics and durability. As a result, we managed to create a top-plate that is easier to clean than ever before.
