We deeply appreciate your steady patronage of Tokyo Gas. Once every three years, Tokyo Gas has specialized service personnel visit customers to check gas pipes and equipment on their premises, indoors and outdoors, to assure the safety and comfort of their gas use. This safety check is based on the Gas Utility Industry Law, and is made at absolutely no cost to the customer. We ask for your presence during and cooperation with it.

Sundays & holidays: 9:00 - 17:00

Inform the operator of your name and telephone number, and the desired date and time for the check. We accept requests for the time of the visit with a margin of about two hours.

Hours for morning visits: 9:00 - 12:00
Hours for afternoon visits: 13:00 - 19:00

The checking work takes only about 10 - 15 minutes. We request your presence and cooperation during it.
Please be aware that our service person checks equipment both outdoors and indoors.

Flow of the check

1Questions
· The service person will ask if there is any smell of gas.
· The service person will ask about any gas-related trouble or problems.
2Outdoor check
· Check for gas leaks from gas pipes.
· Check of the gas meter.
· Check to see that bath water heaters and other water heaters installed outdoors are safely installed.
3Indoor check
· Check of the state of combustion of gas burners.
· Check of the state of installation of gas taps and the connection of their fittings.
· Check to see that bath water heaters and other water heaters installed indoors are safely installed.
4Explanation of the results of the check etc.
· Explanation of the results of the check and cautions in use of gas.
· Explanation of ways to make improvements if any areas requiring it are found.
